UIS has decided to withdraw the DS-Remote service due to low levels of usage.

Upgrade Windows 7 machines before the operating system reaches end of life on 14 January 2020
Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7 on 14 January 2020. The good news is that you may be entitled to a free upgrade to Windows 10, if your institution is participating in the University's EES agreement.
Digital Presence Strategy (previously Web Strategy)
UIS and the Office of External Affairs and Communications are collaborating on a Digital Presence Strategy for the University. Hundreds of web editors across the University have started contributing towards a list of requirements.
New website accessibility regulations
New regulations came into force last year that aim to ensure public sector websites are accessible to all users. UIS has formed a working group to ensure the University's centrally managed digital services comply with these regulations and increase digital inclusivity.
Encouraging the future generation of women working in IT
To celebrate International Girls in ICT Day, staff from University Information Services (UIS) have visited a secondary school in Cambridgeshire to encourage girls with an interest and aptitude for IT to pursue careers in the sector.
Shaping the future of the University IT Service Catalogue
The equipment hosting the University IT Service Catalogue is approaching end of life. UIS will outline recommendations for the catalogue's future in a paper to the next ISC Ops committee.

Moodle Summer Upgrade 2019
Moodle, the University's centrally supported virtual learning environment, will be upgraded from version 3.4 to 3.5 on Tuesday 23 July 2019 between 07:00 and 12:00 noon. The upgrade will introduce security updates, bug fixes and some new features.

The University has joined the programme as an Institutional member, which gives staff and students access to the programme’s benefits.

University Adobe licences expired on 19 March
If you wish to continue using the software past this date your licences must be renewed. If you do not renew, your licenses will expire a few days after this date.
Wi-Fi gets a boost at the Sidgwick Site
We've updated and expanded the Wi-Fi service at Sidgwick Site, increasing capacity and speed in lecture theatres, as well as adding outdoor coverage for the first time.
