Connecting to an individual mailbox
When setting up your account, enter your email address in the format [CRSid]@cam.ac.uk and select 'Configure manually'. Then enter the following server settings:
Incoming server
- Protocol: IMAP
- Hostname: outlook.office365.com
- Port: 993
- Connection security: SSL/TLS
- Authentication method: OAuth2 *
- Username: [CRSid]@cam.ac.uk
Outgoing server
- Hostname: smtp.office365.com
- Port: 587
- Connection security: STARTTLS
- Authentication method: OAuth2 *
- Username: [CRSid]@cam.ac.uk
When authenticating, you'll see the usual Cambridge University screen for your username, password and then multi-factor authentication (MFA). You must ensure that your username on that screen is [CRSid]@cam.ac.uk, and that you use your associated password and additional authentication mechanism.
*If you don't see OAuth2 as an option, fill out the other details and leave the Authentication Method as 'Autodetect'. Click the Re-test button and it should then appear as an option in the drop-down list.
