Why can't I access some electronic journals and databases?

Raven authentication is used to control access to many electronic journals and databases. If you are denied access to a journal or database that is Raven authenticated, first check that the problem is not with your Raven account. Go to the Raven test web page and follow the instructions.

  • If the test succeeds, then the problem is not with your Raven account but with your eligibility; not everyone with a Raven account can access every journal or database. For library electronic resources (ejournals, ebooks, online databases etc.) you can check if you are eligible using the web page at the eresources test page.

    If you are told that you are not entitled to access library electronic resources but believe that you should be, or are being unexpectedly denied access to other resources, then

    • For resources managed elsewhere in the University, contact whoever manages them.
