Raven authentication is used to control access to many electronic journals and databases. If you are denied access to a journal or database that is Raven authenticated, first check that the problem is not with your Raven account.
First, double-check that you are entering your password correctly (see the advice in What should I do if I've forgotten my Raven password or it doesn't work?). If in doubt, you can try getting a new password by following the instructions in How do I get a Raven password?. If this still doesn't help then please consult the Service Desk.
Not everyone with a Raven account can access every journal or database. For library electronic resources (ejournals, ebooks, online databases etc.) you can check if you are eligible using the web page at the eresources test page.
- If you are told that you are not entitled to access library electronic resources but believe that you should be, or are being unexpectedly denied access to other resources, then
- For resources managed by the University Library, consult the help page for electronic resources, or see the Betty and Gordon Moore Library's Raven FAQ, or contact raven@lib.cam.ac.uk.
- For resources managed elsewhere in the University, contact whoever manages them.
For other enquiries and help with using ejournals, please contact the ejournals Helpdesk at ejournals@lib.cam.ac.uk.
