University Information Services

TOAST is the University system departments use to score candidates for graduate funding.

The data entered into TOAST is moderated by a senior academic committee before being used by funding bodies to select candidates for funding. If you're looking to secure funding, most major funders – such as general trust funding or Gates Trust Cambridge – require applicants to be put through TOAST.

Features and benefits

TOAST allows departments to score and nominate the applicants they think are best placed to receive funding opportunities, and allows funding bodies to compare applicants and view comparative data. The service is free to use.

How to get this service

The service can be obtained via the Trusts Online Application and Submission System website.

On first use, a request is sent to for approval.
