Video reference copies
'Reference copies’ is a new feature that helps you use the Panopto Portal to create an interactive experience for your students. By adding reference copies to your Panopto course folders, your student can find all their videos with just one click.
How can you tell if a video is a reference copy?
To the left of the video title, the video reference copy icon will appear. The icon resembles two linked squares:
Editing the original video
You can make edits to an original video and those changes will be reflected in any video reference copies of that video. Before you edit, a window will display the number of video reference copies that will be updated as a result of editing.
Editing a video reference copy
Before editing a reference copy you will need to unlink it from the original video, and a standalone copy will be created. Once you click the edit link on the reference copy a window will appear warning you that you are about to make a full copy of the original. You will also be given the option to edit the original (source) video instead.
The standalone copy will retain all of the viewer-contributed metadata and statistics from the reference copy, including viewer statistics, comments, notes, bookmarks, and quiz results.
