University Information Services (UIS) provides a comprehensive range of IT systems and services to support researchers, including:

- Grant administration (X5): costing and pricing tool for grant applications and contracts
- Research Operations Office portal: for contract submissions and to find department contacts

- Cloud services for researchers: best used for short, time-limited tasks like research projects
- Reference management
- Human Tissue Tracker: a web application and data store to assist the process of recording and tracking human tissue samples
- Perma.cc: helps you to preserve the online sources you cite and to make those records accessible to your readers
Research Computing Services (RCS)
Research Computing Services (RCS) is a centre for research, development and teaching in advanced computing systems. It designs and maintains some of the world’s fastest computing and storage systems for the benefit of Cambridge researchers:
- AI and data analysis
- Cambridge Research Cloud (Azimuth): a web applications portal that provides on-demand science platforms
- Data storage for researchers: Research Data Store, Research File Share, Research Cold Store and Secure Research Computing Platform
- High performance computing (HPC): a range of advanced platforms for computationally intensive research
- Research software engineering: a team of research software engineers with an intricate understanding of the University research environment
- Training and consultancy
- Visualisation; graphical applications to process data, and perform 3D graphical rendering
Research IT services supported by other departments
Research Information Office (RIO)
The Research Information team is a part of the Research Strategy Office of the University of Cambridge. They operate across all disciplines and faculties, and work with researchers, departmental and research group administrators, network coordinators and research facilitators. They provide user support for these research information management systems.
Elements
Elements is the University's research information management system. Used by researchers across the institution to collate, share and report on their research outputs including publications, datasets, grants and professional activities.
Dimensions
Dimensions allows you to analyse information from a wide range of funding bodies.
Altmetric
Altmetric allows you to track the attention research outputs receive online, from mainstream and social media, policy documents and more.

University repository (Apollo)
Apollo is the institutional repository of the University of Cambridge. The Repository is committed to store and preserve the University’s research outputs.

Open Research
Open Research aims to make the knowledge gained from academic research openly available as soon as possible.
