The main offices of University Information Services, including the Service Desk and Card Office, are in the Roger Needham Building on the West Cambridge Site. The site is accessed from Madingley Road. The postal address is:

University Information Services
Roger Needham Building
7 JJ Thomson Avenue
Cambridge
CB3 0RB

Directions

By train

Train travellers are advised to take a taxi from the station, or one of the frequent buses (see below) to the West Cambridge site. When you exit the station, turn left and the bus stop is 100m ahead.

By bus

Take the Universal (U) bus service (see timetable and route) in the direction of 'Madingley Road Park & Ride', and alight at the 'William Gates Building' stop. Walk down the side street to your left, and the Roger Needham Building is straight ahead of you, on the bend in the road. Single journeys cost £2 (£1 for University Card holders), or you can buy a £3 'Rover Ticket' allowing all-day travel on Whippet-operated services.

By car

Via M25/M11: Exit at Junction 13. Drive into Cambridge on the Madingley Road (A1303). After approximately half a kilometre, turn right into the West Cambridge Site onto JJ Thomson Avenue. After 100m, turn left and follow the road round to your right. The Roger Needham Building is then to the left.

Parking

There are a few parking spaces available for visitors outside the main entrance of the Roger Needham Building, and two spaces reserved for disabled access, which operate on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are travelling a long distance, however, it may be possible to reserve a space for you. Please contact  in advance and we will try to accommodate your needs.

Alternatively, visitors are advised to use the Madingley Road Park & Ride facility and either walk (approximately 10 minutes) or catch the Universal bus (see above) to JJ Thomson Avenue. Parking is free of charge.

UIS Videoconferencing Studio

The UIS Videoconferencing Studio is located on the New Museums Site in the centre of Cambridge:

4th floor Cockcroft Building
New Museums Site
Pembroke Street
Cambridge
CB2 3QG

Directions

The entrance to the New Museums Site in Pembroke Street is almost directly opposite Tennis Court Road.

Enter the New Museums Site from Pembroke Street and pass a bike cage on the left ('Cockcroft Building' on the map), turn immediately left. In front, about 30m away, is a set of glass double doors, pass through these and either take the stairs or lift to the fourth floor.

By train

Train travellers are advised to take a taxi from the station, or one of the frequent buses to the city centre; from the central bus station (Drummer Street) it is about 5 minutes' walk to the New Museums Site.

By car

In preference, use one of the Park and Ride sites around the outside of town - see http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/transport/around/park-ride/

Via M25/M11: Exit at Junction 12. Drive into Cambridge on the Barton Road (A603). When you reach a small roundabout, turn right onto Fen Causeway. Turn left at the end of the road onto Trumpington Road. Drive straight ahead over the next mini roundabout and on to Trumpington Street, pass the Fitzwilliam Museum on the left and shortly after turn right into Pembroke Street. The Lion Yard Car Park is just beyond the New Museums Site (if full or considered too expensive, you can get to the long-stay car park by turning right at the end of the street, although there are quicker ways of getting there, avoiding the queues).

Parking

Visitors should be aware that there is no vehicle access to the New Museums Site.

There is limited one-hour parking by metered ticket in Free School Lane, and a short-stay large multi-storey car park at Lion Yard, accessed from Corn Exchange Street. There is a cheaper long-stay car park about 15 minutes walk from the city centre at Queen Anne Terrace on Gonville Place, alongside Parkers Piece (a large open green area). N.B. Allow plenty of time especially if planning to park at Lion Yard Car Park as there are often long delays due to traffic congestion. There are several Park & Ride services (http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/transport/around/park-ride/) that stop at Drummer Street central bus station, a few minutes' walk from the New Museums Site.
