You can add a link to your Moodle course sections or activity or resources using the Moodle text editor.

You can link a Panopto video into Moodle a page, book, lesson, and within the course section, etc. Students can view the video once they click on the link. As an example, the instructions below will take you through how you can insert a Panopto video link into a Moodle label. 

  • Log in to the Panopto cloud dashboard via your Moodle course or using the link https://cambridgelectures.cloud.panopto.eu/ and log in with your Raven account. 
  • Hover over the video you’d like to create a link to from your Moodle course, then click the share button. next to. 

 

  • Next, copy the Share Link from the Panopto video. (Ddo not copy the Embed code) 

 

  • Now, return to the Moodle course and select the section where you wish to provide a link to the Panopto video. 
  • Click the course Actions cogwheel and select 'Turn editing on' (or use Alt+Shift+E) 

 

  •  Click 'Add an activity or resource' and choose to add a 'Label'. 
  • Click the 'Show more buttons' icon in the top left corner to display the full range of icons. 

 

  • Click the ‘Insert or edit an audio/video file’ icon. 

 

  • Ensure you are on the Link tab 
  • Next, paste the Panopto video link into the ‘Source URL’ section. 
  • Make sure to name the link resource, then click the ‘Insert Media’ button. 

 

  •  Now, test the link that you created, it should open up the Panopto viewer with the video you linked to. 

  

Note: If you use the ‘Video’ tab for linking the video using the Video Source URL it will embed the video and it will not work on IOS devices.
