You can use many popular and specialist software titles on MCS Windows, Mac and Linux workstations. The software available differs according to the operating system, but we try to keep the version of each application consistent across all platforms. Some computers offer both Linux and Windows operating systems.

You can see a full list of the software available on the MCS for each platform:

Software requests

You can request software that you would like to see added to MCS computers by completing the MCS application request form. We need to receive requests for the next academic year by the end of the second week of March. Requests made after this period will be dealt with on a best-efforts basis.
