You can access a shared Exchange Online mailbox via the Outlook web app in your browser.

The quickest way to access a shared mailbox in your web browser is to enter the following URL in the search bar:

https://mail.office365.com/owa/[Shared mailbox email address]

You may be asked to log in with your [CRSid]@cam.ac.uk and UIS Password, unless you are already signed into your own mailbox in another tab on the browser.

Alternately, follow these steps:

1

Log in to the Outlook web app with your [CRSid]@cam.ac.uk and UIS Password.

2

Click on the account icon in the top-right corner of the window. It usually looks like a circle containing your initials or a profile photo, if you've added one to your account. It may take a few seconds to appear when the window first opens.

Then click on 'Open another mailbox...'

Type in either the email address or display name of the mailbox you wish to add. As you type, an auto-search should start to narrow down to the item you're looking for. If you can't see the one you want, click on 'Search Directory' to try another search.

You can now work with this mailbox. Switch between tabs to switch between the mailboxes you have open. Any changes you make to settings, rules or folders will apply only to the mailbox you are using.

If you don't have the correct level of access, you'll get an error message like this:
