When you arrive at Cambridge, you'll need to get your CRSid which is a unique ID number. You'll also get a temporary password.

You can use this temporary password to set up your University account (formerly Raven). This allows you to access your @cam email, Microsoft 365 apps and other University systems.

How to get your CRSid and University account

  1. Go to the Jackdaw website:

  2. Fill in your 'Name', 'Date of Birth' and 'Code'. If you're a student you can enter your admission code. If you're a member of staff, your line manager or new colleagues will give you a registration code.

    Select 'Search'

  3. If the details are correct, select 'Next'.

If the information is not yours, close your browser window and email the User Administration team at

  4. Accept the Terms and Conditions by selecting 'Yes'.

  5. Write down your 'CRSid', 'email address' and 'temporary password'. You'll need this in the next step.

  6. Now you can visit the password management site, select 'Log in using Raven' and log in with your temporary password. You can then set up your own password and set up your self-service password recovery information in case you forget it.

It can take up to 30 minutes for your password to update when you first change it. You'll be able to access your @cam email address and Microsoft account after this.
