Apple will soon be releasing macOS Ventura. Following its release, they will drop support for macOS Catalina (10.15). All users running macOS Catalina are encouraged to upgrade to one of the following supported operating systems:

We would encourage all users to run the latest operating system if possible as it should be considered the most secure. 

Software vendors such as Microsoft and Adobe have aligned their support models with Apple releases. This means that macOS Catalina users will stop receiving Microsoft and Adobe updates soon.
