University Information Services

We will be carrying out essential maintenance to the University Wireless Service on the following dates in July.

  • Monday, 11 July – 08:00–09:00 – Service liable to interruption
We will be applying a software update to fix numerous bugs.
  • Thursday, 14 July – 08:00–18:00 – Service liable to interruption
We will be removing several of the older wireless controllers and adding in new equipment to the primary wireless cluster. At 08.00 we will fail the entire system over to the backup site in order to conduct the work during the day and at 18.00 we will move the system from the backup to the primary site. Each of these moves will cause 5-15 minutes of connectivity disruption. During this work we will also be running the system on reduced resilience.
  • Tuesday, 26 July – 07:00–09:00 – Service available but at risk
We will be conducting a software upgrade to two of the four Wireless system routers that connect the Service to the UDN, this should not disrupt service but the service should be considered at risk
  • Wednesday, 27 July – 07:00–09:00 – Service available but at risk
We will be conducting a software upgrade to the last two of the four Wireless system routers that connect the Service to the UDN, this should not disrupt service but the service should be considered at risk

During the first two maintenance periods, the service will be liable to interruption and users may be unable to connect to eduroam, UniOfCam, UniOfCam-Guest, UniOfCam-IoT and local SSIDs. During the third and fourth periods on 26, 27 July, the service will be available but should be considered at risk.
