Students
If your Department has chosen to use Panopto to provide recordings as part of your course, you'll be able to access them from the Panopto block on the right-hand side of the screen when you log in to Moodle.
Academic staff
The University supports lecture capture in three forms:
- Scheduled lecture capture: pre-scheduling a recording to take place in a lecture theatre at a set date/time, published via Moodle
- Manual lecture capture: enabling a recording to be started/stopped in the room
- Personal lecture capture: using software on a user's device to create pre-recorded educational videos.
These are all enabled through Panopto, for which the University has a site licence. Users can also upload recordings from other sources, such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom, into Panopto. Uploading recordings means you can take advantage of Panopto's editing and publishing control, managing access through Moodle.
