University Information Services

We use Microsoft Exchange Online for our central email system. Your "@cam" mailbox is part of your University Microsoft 365 for Education account

What's my Cambridge (@cam) email address?

Your email address is your CRSid + @cam.ac.uk. For example, "abc123[@]cam.ac.uk"

How do I get my mailbox?

Students

You’ll get an email from the Student Registry before your first term. It gives you instructions for completing your online student registration
At the end of the registration process, you’ll go on to get your University IT account. This gives you your:

  • CRSid
  • University IT password (for your Microsoft 365 account)
  • @cam email address

Staff

You'll get instructions during your onboarding process. If you need help, contact your local IT support staff.

How do I get to my @cam mailbox?

You have 3 choices:

Signing in with your University IT account (Microsoft 365) credentials

  • Username = your @cam email address
  • Password = your University password

Multi-factor authentication (MFA)

We use MFA to keep your University account secure. You may need to update the settings on your mail app after you have set up your MFA:

Additional College and Departmental email accounts

You might also get an email account from your College or Department. These are usually under the Cambridge subdomain. For example, "you[@]department.cam.ac.uk" or "you[@]college.cam.ac.uk". If you need help, contact your local IT support staff.
