Types of card

There are essentially four types of card: personal cards, temporary or access cards, Combination Room cards and Alumni or CAMCards (not produced by the University Card Office).

  • Personal Cards: This card is specific to you and includes your photo in the grey box in the image shown, this card can be used for any purpose including accessing discounts.

  • Temporary and Access Cards: Access cards are used for temporary staff, students, visitors and TES staff where access to buildings is required. This card cannot be used for discounts.

  • Combination Room Cards: This card is for retired members of the Regent House to gain access specifically to the Combination Room at the Old Schools and can be used for no other purpose.

  • Alumni CAMCards: Alumni are not eligible for staff cards but can apply for a CAMCard from the University of Cambridge Development Office, 1 Quayside, Bridge Street, Cambridge CB5 8AB; Tel: +44 (0)1223 332288; Fax: +44 (0)1223 764476; Email: enquiries@foundation.cam.ac.uk.

Delays in email delivery between PPSW and Exchange Online tenancies

Several institutions reported to us that messages to their Exchange Online tenancies were being blocked following routine maintenance to the central email switch (PPSW) on Monday 20 January. We believe we've discovered the cause and implemented a workaround that has cleared the backlog and will prevent this from happening again.

Phone system maintenance on Saturday 1 February

We're planning to update the University phone system on Saturday 1 February. Desk phones may reboot several times during this process, but there should be no effect on calls.
