Information Services provides a full schedule of training courses for staff and students of the University and Colleges, most of which are free of charge.

Information Services' staff provide IT training courses in the following:

  • Bibliographic software
  • Computer systems (Windows, Macintosh and Unix)
  • Databases
  • Graphics and photos
  • Presentation software
  • Programming
  • Project management
  • Spreadsheets
  • Statistical and mathematical software
  • Web publishing and website management
  • Word processing and desktop publishing

In addition, self-taught training courses are available for loan.

UIS training and teaching facilities hire

UIS operates several fully-equipped IT training rooms available around the University, complete with MCS workstations (Windows, Linux, Mac platforms), which can accommodate between 15 and 80 participants. These are available to hire.
