How to get to your Exchange Online mailbox
There are three ways to do this:
1. Webmail: the Outlook Web App (all users, including Linux)
Open a web browser and go to the Outlook Web App (OWA) or to the Microsoft 365 portal:
http://outlook.office.com (Go straight to your Outlook mailbox)
https://portal.office.com (Go to your Microsoft 365 homepage)
TIPS: If you ever experience problems using the Outlook desktop client, you can usually still get to your email in your browser using the OWA.
The OWA often provides more settings to customise your mailbox than the desktop or mobile apps do.
2. Use the Outlook email client and/or mobile app (PC, Mac, iOS, Android)
We suggest using the Outlook email client because it gives you integrated access to your email, personal and shared Exchange Online calendars, your To Do list and your OneDrive personal filestore.
Outlook is designed to work seamlessly with other products in the Microsoft 365 collaboration environment including the Office 365 apps and Teams which makes scheduling meetings and collaborating with others across the Collegiate University much easier:
3. Configure another email client (all users, including Linux)
If you use Linux, or don't want to use Outlook, you can configure your choice of email client to connect directly to your University Exchange Online mailbox.
Note: you will need to connect to your personal Exchange Online Calendar separately, using your choice of calendar application.
We also have some tips on how to set up Thunderbird.
