Departments can now set up meeting room check-in using QR codes in the room booking system, Booker. The Room Booking System team has worked with Booker's supplier, EventMAP over the last 6 months to develop QR check-in.

Room check-in was previously only possible using dedicated tablet devices outside meeting rooms. The cost of buying tablet devices for each room or bookable resource made this impractical.

Departments are now able to create and print individual QR codes for any room, resource, or hot desk you'd like to set up as 'Check-In Required'. You can place this QR code next to the meeting room or hot desk. The room requestor then needs to log in to Booker upon arrival before they scan the QR code using the camera or QR code scanning app on their mobile phone. They will be able to complete the check-in process by opening the link from the QR code. Please note that the room requestor will need to have a confirmed booking in order to check-in.
