IT Help and Support

University Information Services

15 November 2024

Our Managed Endpoint Protection Service currently uses Trellix ePO on-premise servers, but we are migrating all devices to Trellix cloud servers (that is, ePO SaaS). We expect to complete the migration by the end of June 2025, after which we'll decommission the on-premise ePO servers.

ePO settings, such as policies, automated responses and permission sets will be migrated to the cloud, so users should not notice any changes.

Why we are making this change

This change will increase security by allowing us to deploy endpoint detection and response (EDR) to devices in participating institutions. Institutions don't need to adopt EDR in order to be migrated.

When will my institution be migrated?

Institutions that are adopting the EDR service will be migrated to ePO SaaS first, as part of the EDR onboarding process. We'll contact other institutions in 2025 to agree a suitable time for a migration.
