First establish which range the first letter of your Desktop Services userid (your CRSid) falls into. Follow the the userid range table below and use the following example to work out your CIFS share path. (the path is \\filestore.ds.cam.ac.uk\first initial of CRSid\CRSid)

Example

Desktop Services userid is zzzz99

That falls into the z range as shown in this extract -

CIFS share Ranges
\\filestore.ds.cam.ac.uk\z z

Therefore you make the share path up as follows -

Use the CIFS share name that appears next to the relevant range section.

\\filestore.ds.cam.ac.uk\z\

finally add your CRSid

\\filestore.ds.cam.ac.uk\z\zzzz99

Note: Whether you need a backslash(\) or forward slash(/) will depend on the operating system you are using.
