Account locking

Part of the security applied to the network ensures that your account cannot be accessed by brute force attacks. If you enter your password five times incorrectly, your account becomes 'Locked Out'. This does not affect any of your documents, emails or other systems, only your ability to access the ACN Network.

Systems such as CamSIS will still be accessible from any PC connected to the ACN. If you do find yourself locked out, please contact us to have it unlocked. Please let us know why it is locked. If you have just forgotten your password, we can reset it for you, but if you don't know why you have been locked out, we can investigate further to ensure it was not caused by a deliberate attack. When your account is locked out, you will not be able to access the following services:

  • Webmail
  • Remote Access
  • Secure Remote
  • Any ACN connected PC
  • The Council website
  • FTP Access
  • Sharepoint
  • ImageNow
