Administrative staff accounts

Administration staff, such as those working for the Unified Administrative Service (UAS), use the Administrative Computing Network (ACN) for their computing rather than a direct connection to the University network, and have a specific range of services available to them.

This section contains a range of information relating to creating, changing and removing administrative staff accounts.

Your account is associated with your username and email address and gives you secure access to any PC on the network, as well as various remote access systems, as dictated by your line manager and University Information Services (UIS).

Your account is maintained and managed by UIS. This allows us to provide a safe and secure computing environment. You can personalise your account in the way it looks and feels and we provide an area for storage of personal documents. You all have a divisional drive and other shared storage. Your account and email address should stay with you throughout your employment within the UAS.

Phone system maintenance on Saturday 1 February

We're planning to update the University phone system on Saturday 1 February. Desk phones may reboot several times during this process, but there should be no effect on calls.

Windows 7 reaches end of life on 14 January, after which Microsoft will no longer supply security updates and bug fixes for the operating system.
