Specific personal information collected by this service

The captive portal page for this service asks you to provide information about yourself.

The specific information that is collected by us when you use this service includes data about your device, such as its MAC address and its make and model. We will also collect information that you provide to us, when using the service, including your email address or social media identifier, depending on your preferred login method.

We also collect information about how you are connecting to the wireless service – for example, which wifi access point you are connected to at a given time, and the amount of data your device is generating on the network.

Much of this information is necessary for the wireless systems to successfully connect your device to the network. Any additional data may be used for support purposes, but may also be used to generate anonymised statistics about usage of the service. It may also be used for legal, regulatory and network security purposes as required.

We use this personal data to fulfil our contractual relationship with you as a user of the service bound by its terms and conditions.

We do not share your data with any external parties, funders or collaborators. However, when using any specific social media platform to access the service, you are following (and agreeing to, as necessary) their privacy and data retention policies.

We may, however, need to use and disclose the data as necessary in the event of a security concern or incident.

We will hold non-anonymised data for no longer than 90 days.
