Support and training arrangements during the initial launch period of AWS from UIS are outlined below. These arrangements will be reviewed and may be adjusted during 2020 as the service matures.
Online guides
The Amazon Web Services Information Package provides a useful introduction and overview of AWS. The AWS Knowledge Centre is the best resource for understanding different aspects of AWS. To get started with AWS we strongly recommend that you familiarise yourself with the following:

Support from UIS
UIS provides support relating to the framework agreement for the provision of AWS and any problems you may encounter requesting an AWS Organization. Please contact the UIS Cloud Team with any questions relating to these areas. Depending on the nature of your enquiry, it may be necessary to escalate some requests to Amazon for action/resolution.
Support from AWS
Amazon provides support for any technical questions relating to the use of AWS. In addition to the AWS Knowledge Centre AWS provides "AWS Office Hours" for University of Cambridge institutional users every Monday between 11:00 BST and 12:00 BST. This is a live online event you can join in your web browser during the advertised time.
UIS' framework agreement includes AWS basic support package. AWS also offer a range of premium support packages which may be purchased through your AWS Organization.

The University has an institutional membership of AWS Educate, which can be used by any member of staff or any current student with a [CRSid]@cam.ac.uk address. Find out further details, including pricing information.
AWS provide regular online demonstration sessions. Please contact aishats@amazon.com to request an invitation to attend a demonstration.
AWS technical and cloud practitioner essentials
AWS technical and cloud practitioner essentials training courses are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Online signup in advance required. Please contact the University's AWS Account Manager for dates. When signing up, choose the 'Amazon use Amazon account, not AWS' on the sign-in page.
