IT Help and Support

University Information Services

We’ll be carrying out essential maintenance on the University Wireless Service in March and April 2023 to pave the way for its continued growth.

Three phases of work in March and April

1.    Tuesday 21 March, 8:00 to 9:00

You might experience interruptions to the UniOfCam-IoT service during the      maintenance period. You might need to reconnect some devices afterwards.

2.    Tuesday 4 April, 8:00 to 9:00

Staff and visitors in the Roger Needham Building might experience interruptions to the University Wireless service during the maintenance period, and the service will be offline for up to 30 minutes. After the work is complete, you might experience a momentary disconnection from the wireless service as you roam between the Roger Needham Building and other buildings until phase three is complete.

3.    Wednesday 12 April, 7:30 to 9:00

Service on the West Cambridge Site will be prone to interruption and offline for up to 30 minutes at one point during the maintenance period.

AirGroup on the West Cambridge Site

We expect normal service to resume after this work, but there will be a change for those that use AirGroup on the West Cambridge Site. AirGroup helps your devices discover and communicate with each other on the network and works between personal devices that are associated with your credentials and connected to either eduroam or UniOfCam-IoT. Devices that use AirGroup on the West Cambridge Site won’t be able to communicate with devices that aren’t located on that site.
