VirusScan Configuration and Deployment

If deploying VirusScan on managed sytems you should be using ePolicy Orchestrator to deploy and manage VirusScan. You are strongly advised to either set policies with ePolicy Orchestrator or to create your own configured version of VirusScan to deploy without ePO which has more restrictive settings than the standard configured version.

Using VirusScan on servers has a range of configuration issues, be it a Domain Controller, Exchange, SQL or just a file server.

For more information on these topics see the following links.

McAfee 10.5 install files

The zip file above contains 2 executable files that MUST be installed in the correct order.

  1. Install UIS_McAfee_10_5_3.exe - this may take some time as this installs the McAfee Agent, Endpoint Security Platform and Endpoint Security Threat Prevention modules. To speed up the install, turn off Windows Defender (this will be turned off automatically during the install, but it helps speed up the install if it's off at the start)
  2. Install Adaptive_Threat_Protection_10_5_3.exe to install the ATP add-in.
