    Installing Extra.dat files

In extraordinary circumstances McAfee may release an extra.dat file to cover a specific individual malware threat. Instructions for installing the extra.dat can me found here

If you are experiencing problems and wish to uninstall McAfee then users should download this package and run the installer within.

    Time Machine

For those using Time Machine we highly recommend that the McAfee Quarantine folder is excluded from backups.

    1. Open System Preferences and select Time Machine.
    2. Click the Options button.
    3. Click the + icon to add an exclusion.
    4. Navigate to the Quarantine folder at the root of the disk and choose Exclude.
