You can embed a Panopto recording in a Moodle course by using 'embed code' from the Panopto recording.

Note: Authentication for embedded videos uses Tokens requiring a pop-up window to load, which can present issues. In some cases, users see an additional sign-in screen. Browser settings can affect this behaviour.

Embed a Panopto recording in a Moodle course

  1. Sign in to a Moodle course where the Panopto block has been provisioned

  2. Select "Course Settings" within the Panopto block

  3. Close the settings pop-up window. Hover your mouse cursor over the video you want to embed and select the "Share" icon

  4. From the share window, under the "Who can access this video" select the "Embed" con

  5. Select "Copy Embed Code"

  6. Return to your Moodle course window and toggle the "Edit mode'" on

  7. Use the + icon within a section and select "Text and media area"

  8. Select "View" in the banner, and select Source Code

  9. Now paste the code copied in step 5

  10. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Save and return to course". The recording will be embedded in the relevant Moodle section.

Browser cookies

To load all the videos upon sign-in, cookies must be enabled on your browser. This will enable you to view the videos when you access the course. If cookies have not been enabled, you will need to 'sign in and play video’ each session.
