Before attending a UIS training course, please read our guidelines for participants.

Online courses

  • Please join the meeting at least 5 minutes early to avoid disruptions.
  • If you need to download files, do this before joining the meeting so you’re ready for the exercises.
  • At the start of the lesson, turn on your microphone and camera, introduce yourself, and say hello. Once the lesson starts, keep your microphone muted but leave your camera on. This helps the trainer assess your understanding. There is nothing worse for the trainer than speaking to an audience they can’t see.
  • Participants must engage actively with the lesson and the trainer. Our lessons are not webinars where you can just watch. There will be activities to complete.
  • Feel free to ask questions at any time.
  • If the trainer asks you to raise your hand on Teams to show you’ve finished an exercise, please do so quickly. This helps them decide when to move on.
  • We welcome your interaction throughout the course. Your contributions will improve your experience and that of others.

In-person courses
