Reconfigure Outlook in Windows 10 (existing users)

These instructions will help you to reconfigure your existing Exchange Online profile in Outlook on your Windows 10 PC. Use these instructions if you have previously used Outlook to connect to your Cambridge email account. Note: there is a set-up wizard available to configure Outlook in Windows for you (see link below).

Before you start

If you haven't done so before, sync your Raven password to the Blue Active Directory by changing your password on the Raven password management site. You can 'change' it to your current password if you want to keep using it – the important part is that you run through the process to trigger the synchronisation process. It may take up to 3 hours for the synchronisation to take effect.

  1. If Outlook is currently running, click the X icon (top right) to quit:

  2. Using a web browser, download the ExchangeOnline.msi file from:
    http://help.uis.cam.ac.uk/exchange-online-migration/windows-msi/view

    Locate the downloaded file on your local drive, and double-click on it to launch the installer:

  3. Click Yes to allow the installation to complete:

  4. From the Start menu, open Outlook:

  5. Click the File link:

  6. From the Info tab, click Account Settings:

  7. From the drop-down menu that appears, choose Account Settings:

  8. From the Account Settings pop-up window, click the New button:

  9. In the Add Account pop-up, fill in the following details:

    Your Name = your full name
    E-mail Address = CRSid@cam.ac.uk
    Password = your UIS Password

    Click Next:

  10. Click Finish to close the Add Account pop-up:

  11. Click OK to close the alert dialog box:

  12. Click Close to close the Add Account pop-up:



  13. Click the X icon (top right) to quit Outlook:

  14. From the Start menu, open Outlook:

  15. Log in to your Cambridge Microsoft account using your CRSid@cam.ac.uk as your username, and UIS Password:

  16. In Outlook, click the File link:

  17. From the Info tab, click Account Settings:

  18. From the drop-down menu that appears, choose Account Settings:

  19. Make sure your new account is highlighted, and click the Set as Default button:

  20. Click the Close button to close the Account Settings pop-up window:

  21. You will now see your University account shown as your default mailbox.
