Notice of DS-Remote service withdrawal on 2 August 2019

UIS has decided to withdraw the DS-Remote service due to low levels of usage. The service will remain active and maintained until Friday 2 August 2019, but no further credit may be added. After this date, the service will no longer be available. Applications can still be accessed by using a Managed Cluster Workstation.

Applications to your device

Subscribe to applications and access them from the convenience of your own device.

Either an institution can purchase vouchers to be redeemed by their students or the student can directly add credit to use the service.

To access the service visit the DS-Remote Web Store

STUDENT ONLY SERVICE

DS-Remote is a service exclusively for the use of students* to aid in access to Windows applications outside of the MCS for use on a device, having installed a remote desktop client.

* - unfortunately due to licensing restrictions, the service is actually only available to non-staff members. Some students who also have a lookup status of staff will need to declare that they have worked 200 hours or less for the University within the last year in order to gain access to the service.

Note: The student must install a remote desktop client on their own device before using this service.

To gain further information email the UIS Service Desk.
