Google Calendar

Google Calendar enables you to create shareable calendars designed for teams.

Accessing your Google Calendar on your own device

If you want to synchronise your G Suite@Cambridge Google Calendar with a calendar on your own computer (for example Apple's Calendar) or mobile device, you should find that most modern calendar apps will support syncing with Google natively. All you will need to do is sign in using your CRSid@cam.ac.uk email address and UIS Password.

In rare cases where a calendaring app doesn't support this approach, you could use Google's App Password feature.

First, ensure that 2-Step Verification is turned on for your account:

  1. Log in to 'My account' using your CRSid@cam.ac.uk and UIS Password, and select the 'Security' tab: https://myaccount.google.com/security

  2. Ensure that '2-Step Verification' is 'On'. If it isn't, toggle the 'Off' setting and follow the on-screen instructions to enable it. You'll need to provide a mobile phone number and, when prompted, enter a code texted to you by Google.

Other help

The best source of help on using Calendar itself is Google's own Google Calendar Help site. Google also has a G Suite Learning Center with a section on Google Calendar, which can introduce you to the software and guide you through performing specific tasks.

Delays in email delivery between PPSW and Exchange Online tenancies

Several institutions reported to us that messages to their Exchange Online tenancies were being blocked following routine maintenance to the central email switch (PPSW) on Monday 20 January. We believe we've discovered the cause and implemented a workaround that has cleared the backlog and will prevent this from happening again.

Phone system maintenance on Saturday 1 February

We're planning to update the University phone system on Saturday 1 February. Desk phones may reboot several times during this process, but there should be no effect on calls.
