Retirement of UIS Windows Software Update Service (WSUS) on 30 June

last modified Jun 26, 2020 11:38 AM
We need to accelerate our original plan and fully decommission the Windows Software Update Service (WSUS) server on 30 June, rather than the 1 September, due to security concerns and the need to prioritise our resources to support the University.

We announced in July 2019 that we planned to retire our Windows Software Update Service (WSUS) this year.

Please may we ask any IT staff who are still using the service to migrate to the Microsoft direct service as soon as possible, as the WSUS service is currently not operational.

Unfortunately, we need to accelerate our original plan and fully decommission the server on 30 June, rather than the 1 September, due to security concerns and the need to prioritise our resources to support the University. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you have any queries, please contact your Relationship Manager.
