Wireless service maintenance on 13 and 19 November

last modified Nov 12, 2019 09:36 AM
The Wireless Service will be subject to interruption between 07:30 and 09:00 on Wednesday 13 and Tuesday 19 November while we carry out essential maintenance.

We have two pieces of work planned for the Wireless Service this month:

Wednesday 13 November, 07:30–09:00 – Wireless system code update

Our wireless equipment manufacturer, Aruba, has supplied a software update to mitigate most of the bugs we identified while investigating the intermittent connectivity issues experienced last month. The service will be subject to interruption while we apply this update. One bug remains, but we have measures in place to mitigate this while we await a further software update from Aruba.

Tuesday 19 November, 07:30–09:00 – Putting a controller back into service

We will restore the primary wireless system cluster to full capacity by putting a controller back into service. It had been removed from service due to a suspected hardware fault, but we have now confirmed the issues were caused by a software fault that has now been resolved. The service will also be subject to interruption during this maintenance period.
