University Information Services

We're updating the University web search engine to the latest version on Friday 30 April. Afterwards, it will look slightly different and some of the functionality will change.

What's changing?

The user interface at and when search results are displayed will look slightly different:

Current interface

University web search before

New interface

Note that the titles of the tabs for filtering search results will also change slightly:

  • 'All results' displays results from all the sources below.
  • 'Website' displays results from all University websites or the site(s) defined by the webmaster in the search box for their website.
  • 'People' displays results from Lookup, which are indexed daily. Users can update their records in Lookup to change the information displayed here. This tab will only be visible if a user has logged in with Raven.
  • 'Social media' displays results from YouTube. Other sources may be added in future.

Results from the Cambridge University Reporter are no longer displayed in a dedicated tab.

Changes for webmasters

All existing quicklinks and search boxes should carry over, but webmasters will need to contact us if they need to create new ones because the search administration interface will no longer be available.
