Major upgrade to the phone system during 28–29 December

last modified Dec 09, 2019 03:23 PM
The University phone service will be disrupted on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 December while we perform the annual upgrade of the system's core software.

Most of the disruption will occur at some point on Saturday afternoon or evening, and should only last for about an hour. The phones will reboot multiple times. Note that if you've set your desk phone to divert to your mobile phone, this function will also be disrupted.

If a phone fails to come back online after a reboot, please try restarting it by unplugging it and plugging it back in again. Users of the Jabber soft client may be prompted to login again when they launch the software after the upgrade.

If you experience any problems after the upgrade, please email . We'll be responding to queries during the Christmas break.

We believe we've discovered the cause and implemented a workaround that has cleared the backlog and will prevent this from happening again.
