Beware fake NHS 'Test and Trace' text messages

Please be aware that University staff are receiving fake text messages purporting to be from the NHS coronavirus test and trace service recently announced by the UK Government.

These fake text messages will contain a malicious weblink. We recommend that you ignore and delete them.

Please see the NHS website for advice on how you would be contacted by the NHS Test and Trace service. The BBC also has some helpful questions and answers about the service, including tips on identifying genuine contacts.

Retirement of UIS Windows Software Update Service (WSUS) on 30 June

We need to accelerate our original plan and fully decommission the Windows Software Update Service (WSUS) server on 30 June, rather than the 1 September, due to security concerns and the need to prioritise our resources to support the University.

The University Card Service will reopen with a limited service on Wednesday 1 July
