IT Help and Support

University Information Services

We will upgrade Moodle, the University’s virtual learning environment, to version 3.11 on Tuesday 5 July 2022.

The service will be unavailable for a period during the upgrade (exact times to follow), and there will be some minor changes to the system afterwards.

The upgrade will introduce improvements and new features, as well as:

  • improve Moodle security and reduce vulnerabilities
  • ensure compatibility with third-party and Moodle community plug-ins
  • maximise support, because all core modules will be up-to-date and supported by Moodle.org
  • resolve a number of known issues.

During the upgrade, users won’t be able to view or upload sessions on Panopto because access is managed via their Moodle login. Assessment Moodle, ICE Moodle and Clinical School Moodle users will be unaffected.

We’ll provide further details on the Moodle website soon.

In the meantime, if you have any queries, please contact moodlehelp@uis.cam.ac.uk.
