Bookings for rooms that are centrally managed by the Student Registry and Estate Management (such as the Babbage, Mill Lane and Lady Mitchell lecture theatres, the Sidgwick lecture block, and rooms in the Old Schools and 17 Mill Lane) will be migrated from Micad to Booker, the University's new room-booking system, on Monday 29 July 2019. You'll need to use Booker to book these rooms after this date.
If you don't already have a Booker account, please contact roombookingsystem@uis.cam.ac.uk to request one. We can set this up in advance of the switchover date. You can find tips on how to use the system in our Booker user guide.
Micad room booking to be retired on 31 December
Estate Management will be retiring the room booking module of Micad on Tuesday 31 December 2019. Institutions that are using this module will need to migrate to an alternative room booking system before this date.
Booker: the University's new room booking system
Booker is a user-friendly, quick and robust cloud-based service that has been designed for the University. It's a foundational element of the Education Space programme, chaired by Professor Graham Virgo. It's available to all institutions across the University of Cambridge, both academic and non-academic.
If you might be interested in adopting the system for your institution, you may wish to attend our next roadshow, which will be held in the Faculty of Education on Friday 19 July. Jon Chiffins, the Faculty's IT Manager, will describe his experience of implementing the system and Rob Smith, Booker’s Service Manager, will demonstrate the latest version and answer any questions you may have.
