IT Help and Support

University Information Services

Following the launch of the UIS-managed AWS and AWS with RONIN services for researchers, we’re now able to provide more user support:

AWS

‘Office Hours’ free AWS consultancy

In collaboration with Amazon, UIS has started an "Office Hours" program. An AWS Solutions Architect will be available for an hour a week to answer questions and provide advice. These online sessions run every 2 weeks on Thursday mornings at 10:00. The next few dates are:

  • 08 December
  • 22 December
  • 05 January 2023

You can join using Google Chime here:  https://chime.aws/MattBurridge

UIS will keep this under review and evaluate its success to see whether it is useful to continue or needs more sessions.

AWS Skills Builder and Technical Deep Dives

Alongside the Office Hours sessions, there’s free digital learning content at AWS Skills Builder.

In future, we are planning to offer Technical deep dives – immersion days, lunch and learns, Solution Architect 1-on-1s and, hopefully, AWS-funded classroom training.

RONIN learning sessions

These sessions aim to give on overview of RONIN, focusing on how it can help researchers. The is scheduled for 24 Jan 2023, 09:00-10:00 and will be an online Microsoft Teams meeting. Please contact cloudsupport@uis.cam.ac.uk for more information.
