RESOLVED: Email to Exchange Online received from the outside world is currently being significantly delayed

At 20:00 yesterday (Thursday 24 January) Microsoft reported that they had resolved the issues that affected the Exchange Online email service for much of the day.

Incoming external email to the University’s Exchange Online users was queued for delivery by the University’s mail infrastructure and all emails were delivered to recipients by 23:00. No mail was lost, however the time stamps on these delayed emails may be wrong.

Microsoft have not published any detailed information about the incident, other than that they have resolved issues with some of their Domain Name Controllers.
