The Elements system, which provides research information, will use Microsoft Azure Authentication from Friday, 25 March. This increases security by adding multi-factor authentication (MFA). From 25 March, you must log in using your University Microsoft account credentials (CRSid@cam.ac.uk email address and Raven password) and have set up your MFA.
What you need to do
Two important changes will affect your ability to log in.
Use your @cam or @cantab email address to log in
You must use your full CRSid@cam.ac.uk email address to log in, not just your CRSid. For example: abc123@cam.ac.uk, not abc123. Your password is the same as before.
Staff with accounts in other Microsoft tenancies – for example, the Clinical School and the Judge Business School – must log in using their University Microsoft account (CRSid@cam.ac.uk), not their institutional account.
Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
You may be challenged to authenticate on your second factor device during login. Make sure you have set up multi-factor authentication on your University Microsoft account before you attempt to log in to Elements after the change.
New login screen
When you log in to Elements after 25 March, you will see the University-branded Microsoft Azure AD login screen:
