We're changing the public certificate used by eduroam at 5.00pm on Thursday, 4 September 2025.
How to prepare for the certificate change
If you used the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT) for Windows devices, the eduroam profile for macOS devices, or the geteduroam for Android app to set up your eduroam connection, you should't notice any change.
If you did not use these tools to set up your device, we strongly advise you do so now, before we make the certificate change. If you do this, your device will automatically accept the new certificate and you will not need to take further action.
What to do if you see a 'verify certificate' message
If you manually joined eduroam by selecting it from the list of available networks and entering your username and password, you'll be notified that the certificate has changed and be asked to accept this change the next time you try to connect to eduroam. The message will vary according to your operating system.
Please check that the certificate is issued by 'GEANT OV RSA CA 4' to 'token-public.wireless.cam.ac.uk' and accept the change.
We urge you to set up your device using the tools linked above to avoid you having to manually accept new certificates in future.
