New framework agreement for the provision of Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Institutions

last modified May 06, 2020 11:29 AM
University Information Services (UIS) has negotiated a framework agreement for the provision of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
This is a part of UIS' Cloud Strategy, which will provide university institutions with access to major cloud services vendors, following a multi-cloud strategy. The first of the services we are making available to institutions is Amazon Web Services. This is immediately available to all Schools, Faculties, any Institutions under the Supervision of the General Board or the Council and any cross-institutional research groups that have a separate billing and/or accounting unit in CUFS. This is a charged for service billed retrospectively on the basis of actual usage. IT Managers can normally set up one AWS Organization per institution they manage, and create multiple sub units within that to manage their institutional users and groups. This provides a quick and flexible way to access cloud based infrastructure for a wide variety of purposes without the need to undertake a separate procurement exercise.

If you have any queries about AWS for Institutions please contact cloudsupport@uis.cam.ac.uk.
