AirGroup functionality expanded on University Wireless Service

last modified Sep 15, 2020 09:57 AM
We’ve expanded AirGroup functionality on the University Wireless Service. AirGroup enables personal devices to discover and communicate with each other via Wi-Fi – for example, it allows you to use Airplay from your mobile devices to your Apple TV.

Wi-Fi logoDevices that support AirGroup – such as Amazon Echo smart speakers, Apple TV and wireless printers – should now be visible to each other if they're connected to either the eduroam or the UniOfCam-IoT Wi-Fi networks.

At the moment, you can only use AirGroup between devices associated with your own CRSid. In future, we're hoping to expand this so that you could choose to share connectivity with others.

Find out more about how to connect to eduroam and how to connect devices that can't connect to eduroam.
