ACN Exchange upgrade

The Administrative Computing Network (ACN) Exchange email service is soon going to be upgraded. This will impact the way admin staff access their email remotely.

University Information Services (UIS) is planning to upgrade the ACN from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. This will be accomplished behind the scenes in a phased approach, with minimal disruption to your managed administrative desktop. It will, however, change the way you access your email remotely.

Accounts will be upgraded in small batches, and you will receive a notification from UIS, by email, when your account has been upgraded, informing you that you will need to take action:

  1. You may need to restart Outlook on your desktop.
  2. You will need to update your bookmark for ACN webmail access.
  3. If you use any mobile devices, you will need to update your settings for the remote access service.

UDN distribution router restarts during 14–22 April 2021

Line cards on the UDN distribution routers will be restarted on the following dates in April 2021 so that we can reconfigure a port operating mode in preparation for the UDN 40GE backbone upgrade.

Changes to Google G Suite for Education

Google has announced that G Suite for Education is now Google Workspace for Education, and that a change in its policy on storage allowances will come into effect in July 2022.
