These pages give details of where to configure the settings for LDAP in various mail programs. They are intended for use if you are configuring a personal machine.

  • If you are using public machines, for example a MCS or a departmental system, then expect that the settings have been made for you.
  • Hermes Webmail has access to the University LDAP Directory already configured.

Note. The University LDAP Directory is only available to mail clients on computers on the Cambridge network. If you are away from Cambridge and wish to use the University LDAP Directory then you will need to use the VPN service so that your computer appears to be on the Cambridge network. Alternatively you can use Hermes Webmail.

Obsolete media formats will be removed from the Streaming Media Service on 24 June

We need to delete old , unsupported media file s from the University’s Streaming Media Service (SMS ) because the system is approaching its max i m um stor a ge capacity . The o riginal high -quality ‘master’ copies will be retained. D eleting old files will allow adequate space for users to add new uploads and ensure the service continues to run smoothly.
