Access to shared resources in the Outlook Web App (OWA)

How to gain access to shared resources such as shared mailboxes, rooms, equipment and archives using the Outlook Web App.

Note: this assumes that the owner of the shared resource has already granted you access rights.

Shared calendars: If you have access to shared calendars, they should automatically be listed without you having to set them up individually.

 

Access the Outlook Web App (OWA)

Using a web browser, navigate to the Outlook Web App at:

 

To permanently add a shared folder/mailbox to your account

  1. Right-click on your name in the left-hand sidebar to open the menu and select Add shared folder:

  2. Enter the name or email address of the shared folder, and select it from the search results and click the button to open it:

  3. The folder will be added to your sidebar.

 

To view a shared mailbox or other resource (without adding it to your account permanently)

  1. Right-click on your name in the top right of the screen to open the menu and click the Open other mailbox link:

  2. In the dialog box that appears, enter the name or email address of the shared folder, and select it from the search results and click the button to open it:

  3. The mailbox will open in a new browser tab.
