Fibre optic rental service

The University has a city-wide network of fibre optic cables (the GBN) which provide connectivity to all Institutions. These fibre optic cables are available to lease for private network connections between institutions and can be used for a variety of purposes. This service is very competitive compared to commercial providers.


The Granta Backbone Network (GBN)

The city-wide fibre optic network is called the Granta Backbone Network or GBN. Details of the GBN, it's coverage, infrastructure and design are found here. It also includes contact information for the GBN team, who operate and install new GBN infrastructure.
